Getting ready to buy a home in Oklahoma City Metro? Cash or mortgage?

You are thinking about a new HOME. A new home journey. What an exciting thought! NEW HOME!
Either it is your first home or a 'step up' home the importance of getting familiar with the PURCHASE & TRANSACTION PROCESS is SO VERY IMPORTANT. HOW TO PURCHASE A NEW HOME

UNDERSTANDING MORTGAGE PROCESS

Meet Janet & Joe and their newborn twins - double A's - Ana & Adam. After renting for a few years J & J decided that is time to 'graduate' and start thinking about homeownership. Their excitement grows fast - already they can imagine having more space for their family. They can see themselves in that big kitchen, blues & pinks in the twins' rooms and ... a yard! Their own piece of heaven! They start acting immediately. Their first step is the Internet, of course. Hit and miss. Some homes are on the market and some just claim that they are. How is it possible? A few weeks pass by ... open houses, drive by's, sold signs etc. And finally after all that time and hard work they narrowed it down to a couple of new homes. Yes! The decision is made ... they're going for it!

Let's write an offer!
It's time to call that Realtor who has it listed and write an offer! ... and ... and ... nothing happened. They were promptly informed that their offer will probably will not be accepted because they don't have the mortgage process started. The sellers do not believe that they are able to purchase. Ooops! Heartbreaking ...

It is a fact that almost all sellers now require a pre-approval letter from a mortgage company to accompany a contract. Otherwise the sellers don't think a buyers are able to proceed with the purchase.  They don't want to take their house off the market while waiting for the buyers to get pre-qualified for a home mortgage.

When it comes to start your home journey most of us get fired up just by thinking about it. The thought of acquiring a new four corners is so exciting! New house, new furniture, new decorating ideas, new neighbors - all of it make thrills us! Making a house a HOME brings so many pleasant thoughts and make us feel good. And rightfully so. However, looking for new homes should NOT be the first step of the journey. GETTING PREQUALIFIED is not as exciting but it is definitely most important. Many consider arranging for financing a daunting step in the process. But dragging your feet, putting  it on a back burner or trying not to think about will 'catch up' with you when you least expect it.

Buying a house is one of the biggest and most important investments. So being familiar with the process  will pay off when you find THE HOUSE and want to write an offer. The process is really not that complicated but most the time misunderstood or ignored.
